Christmas morning watching the sunrise in Nerja. When I left school aged 15 and started work on a farm in Shropshire I had to get up at 5am, then came the Army doing the same early morning routines which have continued all of my life, until now when I get up at 5am there is no need to prepare for work and I can go out walking and taking in the world around me. I often sit somewhere and watch the sun rise, which is different every single day. I am so glad that I have always been an early bird, as I know many "night owl" people who are out late at night having fun, but they never get to see scenes like this and they wake up when half the day is gone.
Nothing better than fresh crisp air in the morning when the only sound is the dawn chorus of birds singing.
